On the 16th June Dan and I hosted a beach party. I mean, there was little hosting to be had really, but we selected a spot on the beach and people joined us from across the prefecture to relax in the sun and swim in the sea.

Coming from the UK, it is a pretty special feeling to be able to swim in a clear, (sort of) warm sea and feel only sand and the occasional fish under foot. All ten of us took to the ocean swimming and bobbing about together, lazily drifting down the beach. It was wonderful.

The rest of the day was filled with great company, conversation, and relaxation. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset together and the best of Yasuoka beach was on display to the group of ‘out of towners’.

I will miss this, there is no doubt about that. It really was a perfect day, as we start to enjoy some of our last in Yamaguchi.
