Actual Gyoza Gorging: For Dan

on

The final 24 hours in Ustunomiya were not quite as relaxing as the first two. The main reason for this is the significant lack of vegetarian gyozas. Whilst Dan was able to gorge himself on these delicious Japanese treats, I had to stick to Western avocado salads and chips. Don’t get me wrong, as a millennial I enjoy an Avocado as much as the next person, however, I wanted gyozas. Hence us going on this trip!

Still, Dan got to seriously enjoy his gyoza fill. And I got to pose as a gyoza, so I guess it wasn’t all bad. The actual town has one main street where you can find lots of gyoza shops clustered around the station. Move down the main road for 1 km and you will come across the large Futaarayamajinga (that’s a mouthful) shrine. After walking up the 100 steps you (Dan) deserves a gyoza treat. This can be found in the basement of the building opposite, where gyozas galore can be enjoyed, as long as you’re not a vegetarian.

Whilst Dan gorged, I drank beer and posed as a lackluster, full of meat, gyoza. So I guess really I was the winner after all?!
