For Golden Week this May we spent our time camping on the very beautiful Iki island, Nagasaki prefecture. Golden Week really is golden. The name was coined by the Japanese film industry for the high ticket sales, and the Golden Week consists of four bank holidays. Combine this with a little annual leave and you have nine days of dancing!
Iki island is 17km by 9km and can be reached by a 100 minute hydrofoil from Fukuoka. It sits between Japan and Korea in crystal clear water. Due to its size, we very conveniently found everything was a mere 20 minute drive away!
On our trip we relaxed, camped, fed dolphins, relaxed, enjoyed onsens, relaxed, went sightseeing and relaxed…here are some pictures of our trip:
